Congratulations to the brand new bride! I'm so glad I've found you on this wedding guide and I can't thank you enough for considering me to be your wedding photographer! I’m sure your mind is racing with all that needs to be planned. It’s all very exciting but it can also be somewhat overwhelming. You’re planning the day that you’ve been anticipating your whole life and yet you only get one shot at it! By the time you get the hang of it, the planning is over! My goal as wedding your photographer is to make this one aspect of the planning process simple. Photography is more than just images, it’s a real part of your day. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience. When my couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, that results in genuine, joyful images! Your wedding day is an experience from beginning to end and your photography is a huge part of that experience, so shouldn’t it be fun? and enjoyable? and natural? I think so! My goal is to not only capture memories for my clients, it’s to create an experience that they will never forget.
One way I ensure that my brides and grooms enjoy the BEST photographic experience possible is through forming a relationship with my couples. I try my best to make sure that all of my couples are the PERFECT fit before officially booking. A bride and groom should connect with their photographer, trust their photographer and be EXCITED about the whole process with them! After booking, I love getting to know my clients through an ENGAGEMENT SESSION that helps them warm up to the camera so that they are ready to rock and roll on the wedding day! By the time the wedding day arrives, my clients feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for photography!

ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS
My engagement sessions are fun, natural, and laid back. I will guide you through the entire session while always paying close attention to the details to ensure that you both look incredible. These sessions are important as this time allows you to get comfortable in front the camera with me, so I can see how you work best together before the wedding. It also allows you to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting, while creating some fun images for wall portraits, save the dates, your wedding sign-in book, and thank you cards.
BEAUTY SESSIONS
If you are looking for a wedding gift for your husband-to-be, a boudoir session is the perfect choice. I can promise that he will LOVE it! You can learn more about these sessions and view the package options HERE. All packages include a heirloom album filled with your favorite images, wrapped to perfection and ready to give to your lucky guy. Most brides choose to give the album the night before the wedding or have their bridesmaids deliver it to him just before the ceremony.
BRIDAL SESSIONS
Bridal Sessions provide a great opportunity for a trial run before the wedding day. They allow you to test out your hair and makeup along wit your dress to see if there are any changes you want to make before the big day. Additionally, you will have gorgeous portraits of you in your dress that we don’t always have time for on the wedding day which you can display at your reception. Your Bridal Session can take place at a natural location that I can suggest or at your venue if it offers great natural light.

HOW MANY HOURS OF COVERAGE DO I NEED FOR MY WEDDING?
This is dependent on a number of factors including if you plan to have a First Look, if your ceremony and reception are at separate locations, etc.; however, I am here to help give you my advice based on what will help your day flow the best. I typically like to arrive at least 2-2.5 hours before the ceremony in order to capture you getting ready, all of your wedding party photos, detail photos, etc. Many of my brides choose to begin their coverage earlier in the day rather than have me stay until the end of the reception as the photos you will cherish the most are the ones of you getting ready with your girlfriends, your groom cutting jokes with his groomsmen, you and your groom, all of your family interacting with you, etc. – as opposed to many hours worth of dancing photos, because, trust me, after an hour’s worth of dancing photos, they all start to look pretty similar …. and if there will be alcohol at your wedding, most brides don’t care to have the late hours of the night documented anyway! ;)
WHAT CAN MY PORTRAIT SESSION BE USED FOR?
Portrait Sessions can be used for Engagement or Bridal Sessions. You also have the option of adding any Beauty Session Package (found HERE) to your Wedding Collection and receiving $50 off the chosen Boudoir Package -OR- you can trade in the Portrait Session included in your Wedding Collection to receive 50% off any Boudoir Package.
WHAT DAYS DO YOU BOOK PORTRAIT SESSIONS & WHERE WILL MY SESSION TAKE PLACE?
All portrait sessions are booked Monday-Thursday. I have various locations that I love to shoot depending on the time/season of the year, but I always encourage my clients to choose somewhere that is special for them. So please let me know what you have in mind! I actually love it when my couples ask me to photograph them in a location that means something special to them! I book engagement sessions at least two months in advance and 60 miles of travel are included.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TO WEAR FOR MY PORTRAIT SESSION?
Upon booking, you will be sent an information link for preparing for your session. This includes a very detailed guide for choosing your outfits and other preparations to ensure that your session is a great one. I am also here to answer any questions you may have along the way.
WHEN WILL MY IMAGES BE READY?
Your images are carefully culled and edited to ensure that they match the quality and standards of Maddie Ray Photography. This process takes 2-3 weeks for your portrait session images and 4-6 weeks for your wedding images.
HOW DO THE DIGITAL FILES WORK?
We average 75-100 images per hour when shooting. I love delivering our client’s files quickly and easily via an online gallery. You will have the ability to print, share and download your images as much as you want. I believe in freely sharing our work because that is what I would want if I was in your shoes!
I’M READY TO BOOK! WHAT’S THE NEXT STEP?
Once I have answered any questions you may have and you have decided which wedding experience collection is exactly what you’re looking for on your wedding day, the next step is a booking proposal. I will create an online proposal that will walk you through the package and when you’re ready you can save your date by signing your contract and paying your 50% nonrefundable retainer fee online.
